A memorial ceremony was held today on the eve of the 24th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster.
Around 300 people, including families of victims, gathered at Liverpool Town Hall where a memorial was established in the form of a clock stopped at 3.06pm – the time that the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest was called off due to the tragedy.
A 7ft bronze monument was also unveiled in the city’s Old Haymarket.
