Motoring organisations warned travellers could experience 'horrific journeys' tonight after Britain suffered its worst traffic congestion of the year. The RAC counted more than 230 miles of holiday jams with 90 miles of traffic at a crawl on the M5 from Gloucestershire to Exeter and called the A30 through Devon and Cornwall 'a nightmare.'.
