UK ticket holder wins £41m EuroMillions jackpot
A possible winner of nearly £41 million in last night's EuroMillions draw has come forward, Camelot said today.
The UK-based ticketholder scooped the rollover jackpot of £40,627,241.
Camelot said a claim had been staked for the prize.
A spokesman said: "Subject to validation the prize could be paid out when the banks open on Monday. The winner can then decide whether or not to go public and share their news."
He added: "We are looking forward to welcoming the lucky ticketholder to our millionaires' club which is already over 2,800 strong.
"EuroMillions players in the UK continue to contribute to the massive £27 billion raised for National Lottery Good Causes. This latest win continues the nation's amazing run of luck with big EuroMillions winners."
The success is the seventh biggest UK lottery win. The record is held by Colin and Chris Weir, from Largs, Scotland, who won £161 million on EuroMillions last July.
The winning main EuroMillions numbers were: 02, 10, 22, 27 and 28, and the winning Lucky Star numbers were 06 and 08.
