There will be a wet start to the week for parts of Scotland, northern England and Wales.

Further south will see some sunny spells, especially in East Anglia where there will be a dry start to the week. The west of the UK will see a few outbreaks of rain.

Most of the country will experience a mixture of sunshine and showers as we go through Monday. These showers will start in the west and gradually move inland, pushed by a gusty south westerly wind.

Temperatures will be slightly warmer than last week with highs of 9C to 12C and these unseasonably warm temperatures will remain throughout the week.

Into the evening showers will continue for most. Heavier rain is forecast moving up from the south towards London and the south east.

Overnight, into Tuesday morning, rain and clouds will lift leaving clearer skies for a time. Sunshine and showers will continue for most, with more rain in the west of the country but with slightly less wind than Monday.

The rest of the week will see more rain and winds as an area of low pressure arrives up from the Atlantic Ocean. This will bring with it gusty winds and heavy rain which will move north through Wednesday.

Northern Ireland will also see heavier rain on Wednesday. There may see some more sunshine on Thursday but the weather will stay predominantly wet as we move into the weekend.
