UK weather: No April showers... but say goodbye to the heatwave

Next week has weather approaching highs of 19 celsius

The weather is expected to stay dry, but with a moderate temperature and partial cloud across the country, the mini heatwave is over.

Today will stay sunny and cool, with winds of around 17mph bringing a chilly edge to the day.

Sunday will consist of a bit more cloud cover, although it's expected to stay mild and moderate throughout.

Further on towards the start of next week the weather will become warmer, with highs of 18 and 19 celsius across the country.

Almost no chance of rain at the start of the week and very little cloud cover will mean the weather begins to hot up, though it might not reach temperatures of the mini heatwave earlier on in the week.

High pressure patterns are expected to bring much of the dry weather and warm sunny spells to the west, with a touch more cloud in the eastern parts of the country.

Nights will remain chilly, due to clearer skies and less cloud cover, with slight faster winds approaching from the north west.

While most of the country will be experiencing warm to mild weather, London and parts of south-east England will predominantly stay cool thanks to cloud cover while the sun is at its highest during the days.

Later in the week the weather will turn a little, with fewer sunny spells and much more cloud.

But temperatures will stay warm, with highs of 17 and 18 degrees in across much of the country, although April showers will start to return, with a 40 per cent chance of precipitation at the tail end of the week.
