A British holidaymaker abducted from a beach resort in Kenya after an armed gang murdered her husband is believed to be in a remote location in southern Somalia, security sources said yesterday.

Police arrested two suspects yesterday in connection with the attack.

Judith Tebbutt, 56, is said to be being passed between gangs in an effort to secure a ransom for her release. She was on holiday with her husband, David, a finance director at the publisher Faber & Faber when attackers raided their beach house last Sunday and shot her husband. They then abducted Mrs Tebbutt, a partially deaf social worker, and sped off by boat.
