A mother who was raped multiple times by her partner, even while she was asleep, has bravely waived her anonymity to speak out about her ordeal.

Rebecca Bellenie said that Neil Parrish, 33, repeatedly attacked her and forced her to perform oral sex on him if she “had attitude”.

Ms Bellenie, also 33, was able to tell her story after he was found guilty of three counts of rape, one count of affray and one account of assault by beating by a jury at Chelmsford Crown Court. He was jailed for 11 years.

"I would be verbally and physically abused every day," the mother-of-three told EssexLive. "It was about a year after the all-clear that he started going out on the lash, taking coke, speed and weed."

Ms Bellenie said that she had fallen in love with Parrish almost instantly when they first met in 2010.

But their relationship soured after he got cancer, which he later recovered from.

"I did not know whether he was always like that and whether the cancer had been a mask for what he was really like," she said.

As their relationship deteriorated, Ms Bellenie claimed Parrish would send her text messages and emails to call her to their room, where he would force her to perform sex acts on him.

Parrish also insisted that she pleasure him as a form of punishment for trivial issues, she added.

"The last three weeks of our relationship, he would demand that I gave him oral every single day," she said. "He would do it to me if I hadn't done the washing up, if I had spoken to him funny or if I rolled my eyes at him. I would sob and I would tell him I didn't want to. I cried during it - after he would say 'good girl.'

"If I came in the room and didn't do something right he would tell me to go out and come in again."

Feeling trapped in the relationship, Ms Bellenie said did not know where to turn because she "didn't want to bring other people into it.”

But eventually she worked up the courage to leave in April, before later confiding to her mother what had happened.

With her mother's support, she made a complaint to police, who subsequently arrested him.

Parrish, of Chelmsford, was found guilty of three counts of rape, one count of affray and one count of assault by beating.

He was acquitted of four separate counts of rape, one count of sexual assault by penetration, one count of assault by beating and one count of engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour.

He admitted one count of threatening to damage or destroy property and one count of rape and one count of assault by penetration will remain on his file.

He was also handed a restraining order and will be on the Sexual Offenders Register for the rest of his life.
