Woman sent severed pig's head and dead rats after she liked Facebook page
The hand-written note warned the woman over her opposition on social media to a proposed housing development

A woman was sent a box containing a severed pig's head, two dead rats and a threat to cut off her head after she liked a Facebook page.
The hand-written note warned the woman over her opposition on social media to a proposed housing development in Calderbank, Scotland, the Daily Record reports.
It said: “This is a warning. Next time it’ll be your head in the f***ing box.
“Stay off Facebook and tell your big pal to get the page deleted.
“These houses/development will be getting built!”
The woman had liked a Facebook page called Stop the EuroPark Development, which opposes proposals to build 3,000 homes.
The page has more than 1,300 members.
The woman, who asked to remain anonymous, told the Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser: “I was really taken aback when I opened the box and saw what was inside. It was absolutely disgusting.
“Then when I read the note I was even more upset and alarmed.
“All I’ve ever done is like a Facebook page. But I’m hardly alone in that."
The prospective builders of EuroPark, Orchard Brae, told the Daily Record: “This appalling stunt has absolutely no association with the development.”
A 34-year-old man has reportedly been arrested over the threat.
