The body of a baby boy had been found in a binliner at a waste recycling plant, police said. A worker at the Greenstar Recycling Plant in Addlethorpe, Lincolnshire, found the body, wrapped in a bloodstained cloth, while working on a conveyor belt on Thursday.
Lincolnshire police said they were trying to find the mother, "who could be very poorly and in desperate need of medical attention". They believe the baby died after a traumatic birth and the mother could come from anywhere in the country. He was not stillborn. A post-mortem is being held to determine how he died.
