Tube flooding: Severe delays on London Underground as Circle and Hammersmith and City lines flood

Bad weather in London today has led to travel chaos, with the Circle Line and Hammersmith & City Lines experiencing severe delays due to flooding.

British weather is unpredictable at best, but heavy rainfall in the capital city came after weeks of warm and sunny weather.

Earlier, there was no service between Edgware Road and Hammersmith stations on the Circle line due to the flooding.

Later, flooding led to severe delays on the entire line. It was a similar situation on the Hammersmith & City line, which runs alongside the Circle line for much of its route through central London.

Major disruption occured, with many commuters eager to get home at the end of the week. Transport for London (TfL) advised passengers that tickets would be valid on local buses, to try and help their journey home.

Earlier in the day, Stepney Green, Embankment and West Ham stations were part closed due to to flooding on the platform, and South West trains services were also disrupted due to the heavy rainfall.

At the time of writing, both lines are still experiencing severe delays, and the rest of London is miserable because of the bad weather.

TfL said they are working to clear the water as quickly as possible, and told passengers to check travel updates for the latest information.
