Linda Withington, 37, of Hyde, who was left blind and brain damaged after having her fourth baby at St Mary's Hospital, Manchester, was awarded damages of pounds 1.55m yesterday. Central Manchester Health Authority admitted liability and agreed to pay her husband Steven pounds 20,000 for the trauma he suffered.
