Doctors at Europe's biggest children's hospital warned that patients and their parents were suffering because of a 'serious lowering of standards'.
In a letter to NHS trust chiefs, the 15 doctors at Alder Hey in Liverpool said insufficient resources were available and the situation was becoming 'intolerable'. They said that if there was no 'significant improvement' their 'continued co-operation cannot be assumed' and further measures would be discussed.
