Hammersmith Hospital will not be sacrificed in the London reorganisation, the Secretary of State for Health said. Virginia Bottomley said the leading research centre would not have to move. She proposes a single trust for Charing Cross, Hammersmith, Queen Charlotte's and Acton hospitals.
