Hotel owner jailed

A businessman who set fire to his hotel in an attempted pounds 2m insurance fraud was jailed for four years. Bristol Crown Court was told that 40 residents had to be evacuated from the Waverley Hotel, Bristol, after Mohammed Parvaz set it alight.
