Humphrey cleared

The Prime Minister defended the No 10 cat, Humphrey, over allegations he was responsible for the deaths of four robin chicks in a nest in a window box outside the Cabinet room. Mr Major told a Tory meeting in Cleveland: 'The cat is innocent. The four robins died peacefully in their nest.'
