Hunger strike death

A man paralysed in a fall 36 years ago died after going on hunger strike when he was told he would have to wait three years for specialist treatment, an inquest in east London was told. Recording a verdict of accidental death on David Charlton, 59, of Walthamstow, the coroner said: 'He died from the late effects of a severe injury.'
