A detainee on hunger strike was being sought after giving a Group 4 guard the slip in a Birmingham hospital where he was taken suffering from stomach ulcers. Hardeet Singh, 29, of West Bromwich, was among a group held on immigration charges at Winson Green prison, Birmingham, who claim they have been unfairly treated by immigration authorities. He fled in his pyjamas, with bare feet.
