Five police officers were injured and 26 hunt saboteurs arrested during clashes near Chelmsford, Essex, yesterday.

The arrests happened after disturbances outside a public house at North End.

A police spokesman said: 'The hunt moved off towards Pleshey village, but in the area of Stagden Cross they were confronted by 250 protesters. There were a number of clashes and mud was thrown at the hunt.'
