Inmate tortured

Three teenagers who tortured an inmate at a young offenders' institution were remanded in custody and warned that they faced long sentences. Durham Crown Court was told that Kris Lindsay, 17, and Gavin Taylor, 19, both of Co Durham, and Alan Dugdale, 19, of Newcastle upon Tyne, scraped the enamel off their victim's teeth, pushed a needle through his cheeks, and cut open his wrists.
