A coroner called for an inquiry into the death of a patient who killed himself 24 hours after being discharged from Hither Green psychiatric hospital in south London. Southwark Coroner's Court was told that Stuart Marshall, 42, repeatedly threatened suicide but doctors did not believe him and the hospital was suffering a bed shortage.
