A 15-strong IRA gang took over the village of Meigh in South Armagh last night and ordered two young men to leave Ireland within 48 hours.

The terrorists, masked and in battledress, paraded for about 35 minutes carrying rifles and machine guns. They stopped drivers and handed out leaflets in which the threat to the two was contained. They alleged the men were involved in 'criminal activity'.
