George Huish, one of 13 Lambeth councillors suspended by the Labour Party last year, issued a libel writ against Jack Straw, the party's environment spokesman, over comments he made in press releases about corruption in the south London borough. Other current and former councillors said they would issue writs unless Mr Straw withdrew his remarks.
