Campaigners fighting to win the release of Frank Johnson, 55, jailed 17 years ago for the murder of his employer, urged Labour conference delegates to back efforts to reopen his case. Johnson, originally from Tipperary in the Irish Republic, was convicted in 1976 of the murder of John Sheridan, a shopkeeper.
