Detectives have recovered a national treasure stolen in a raid on Cliveden House, the former home of Lord and Lady Astor, at Taplow, Buckinghamshire, last month.

The 1850 bronze sculpture of Joan of Arc is worth pounds 100,000.

The sculpture, which was recovered in a police raid at Crowthorne in Berkshire, will need repairs before it can be put back in position on a marble plinth at the National Trust property.
