KLM in new scare

AKLM-operated Saab aircraft on a flight to Cardiff was forced to return to Amsterdam's Schiphol airport after a warning light showed the aircraft's de-icing system had failed. On Monday, a similar KLM aircraft operating the same route crash- landed killing three people.

An Israeli fighter was sent to check the landing gear of an El Al jumbo jet as it approached Tel Aviv from Heathrow after a warning light indicated malfunction. The aircraft landed safely.
