Lancaster Prison
David Orr, prison works officer at Lancaster Prison, inspecting the dungeon where the Pendle Witches were held during their trial in August 1612, after which they were executed. The tower that houses the dungeon is being surveyed by archaeologists, and will be open to the public for the first time when the prison closes in 1996.
