David Price, onetime gumshoe and recently libel lawyer for Michael Foot, has become the first solicitor to appear as a sole advocate in the Civil Court of Appeal.

Price, 32 appeared for his client Nigel Watts in the City of London Police appeal against damages awarded for false imprisonment.

Price now has his sights set on taking briefs in criminal appeals.
