FRERE CHOLMLEY announced this week that it is to merge with another City firm, Bischoff & Co, from 1 May. The new practice will have 63 partners and 213 fee earners. No redundancies of legal staff are anticipated, but a spokeswoman said there will be 'economies of scale' amongst support staff. Frank Presland, of Frere Cholmley, will be chairman of the new firm, and Bischoff's senior partner, Richard Millar, will become joint chairman.
