Law Update: Fewer appointments

All but two of the largest London firms have appointed fewer partners this year than last, according to Legal Business magazine. The two exceptions are Slaughter and May, which made six new appointments following only one last year, and Freshfields (eight this year, six last). Clifford Chance has appointed 10 new partners, following 15 appointments last year and 19 in 1991.
