Mark Humphries, a litigation partner at Linklaters & Paines, has become the first career solicitor based in a major City firm to be granted a higher courts qualification on the basis of his advocacy experience as a solicitor. The majority of the others granted the qualification are either barristers-turned-solicitors or have judicial experience.
