Law Update: Information plea

John Aucott, a member of the Law Society's council, has urged solicitors to give clients full information about costs before embarking on work. Writing in this week's Gazette, Mr Aucott expresses his disappointment that the society's professional standard of 1986, calling for openness in charging practice, was only incorporated in the more recent practice rule 15 as a recommendation.
