The chartered accountants Ernst & Young ran a 'mock trial' this week to train lawyers in the cross-examination of expert accounting witnesses, and in turn give the experts experience at the receiving end of cross-examination. The trial, held at the Law Society, concerned a fictional audit negligence case and was due to be attended by 40 lawyers and staff from Ernst & Young.
