More than 70 per cent of young solicitors are seriously considering changing their jobs, according to the legal recruitment consultants Harrison Willis, who report complaints about a lack of recognition from partners, long hours, uninteresting work and uncertainty about career progression. At the same time, the recruitment market for lawyers in the commercial and industrial sector is mushrooming.
