A Liverpool solicitor has signed a television deal for rights to his crime novels featuring an amateur detective who happens to be a Liverpool solicitor. The flesh and blood version is Martin Edwards, a partner in Mace & Jones. His fictional creation is Harry Devlin, who first appeared in All The Lonely People, which was shortlisted in 1991 for a Crime Writers Association award. His latest novel is due to be published in November.
