A detail from David Mach's sculpture Flayed, Stretched and Tanned, which is on display at Walsall Art Gallery, West Midlands, until 23 January. The 10-ton installation appears like a huge tidal wave of newspapers sweeping away several items of leather furniture - including a Chesterfield sofa - and a saddle.
