Love Island’s Megan Barton-Hanson and Jack Fowler have emerged as the "most fancied" duo from this year’s series, according to a new poll.

Twenty-three per cent selected 22-year-old semi-pro footballer Jack as the hunkiest man to have entered the villa this summer.

And 21 per cent named Megan, a 24-year-old model from Essex, as the most fanciable female.

The second most-fancied male from was controversial A&E doctor Alex George, followed by Sam Bird, Charlie Brake and Josh Denzel.

Alex and Josh are the only of those men to remain in the Love Island villa ahead of finale.

Unlucky-in-love Alexandra Cane was the second most-fancied female in the house, followed by 29-year-old Laura Anderson.

In fourth place was Dani Dyer, with Georgia Steel - infamous for her regular deployment of the word "loyal" - placing fifth.

The poll, conducted for dating app Plenty of Fish, also suggested Love Island is influencing the UK’s dating scene.

Dubbed "the Love Island effect", the study found a third of viewers feel the show has given them "good" dating tips.

On top of that, it seems just being a viewer of the show can help land a date.

Chatting about the show has become a go-to tactic for British daters, with 45 percent of fans admitting they have discussed the show while on a date.

Many have even used Love Island lingo to turn a partner’s head, with “I’d be lying if I said I didn’t fancy you” the number one catchphrase for more than a quarter of those polled.
