Seven of the 12 children killed in the M40 minibus tragedy last Thursday night probably died instantaneously, a coroner said yesterday.
Michael Coker, the Warwickshire coroner, said he hoped the victims' families would be able to draw some solace from that. The badly burned bodies of the seven pupils and their teacher, Eleanor Fry, had to be identified from dental records.
The inquests on all 13 victims from the Hagley Roman Catholic High School, Hereford and Worcester, were adjourned.
