An 84-year-old man, partly paralysed by a stroke, was beaten by robbers who raided his home in West Chiltington, West Sussex. At Cottingley, Leeds, a 41-year-old woman who suffers from a wasting disease was kicked and punched by three teenagers who broke into her home and stole a video recorder. She lay injured for 10 hours.
