Police investigating a series of attacks on horses arrested a man suspected of carrying out an attack in Hampshire last week which resulted in the death of a thoroughbred mare and her unborn foal.
Detective Superintendent Peter Long, who is leading the investigation, said he was confident they had identified a number of strong suspects, but had insufficient evidence to prosecute. Two men had been cautioned and a third had been reported for prosecution.
