POLICE investigating the murder of 12-year-old Katrina Monk arrested a man aged 24 at his home in Enfield, north London, yesterday. The man, who is single and unemployed, was being questioned at a police station nearby.

Katrina, who was found dead in an alleyway near her home in Enfield Lock, north London, on May 28, had disappeared after leaving school the previous afternoon. Her hands were bound and a plastic bag was taped over her head. She had been asphyxiated.

Her diary and some of her clothes were missing. Police said there was no known motive for the killing and there had been no sexual attack.
