A dental technician suffered serious injuries yesterday when a parcel bomb exploded in his face after being handed to his 10-year-old daughter by an unsuspecting postwoman.

William Edwards, 42, of Swindon, Wiltshire, suffered injuries to his stomach, face and hands when he opened the package in his kitchen. His wife Susan, 38, was treated for shock. Detectives believe it may have been a personal attack.
