A FATHER who abducted the baby grandson of his friend because he missed his own children was jailed for nine months yesterday.
Andreas Valinakas, 50, a painter and decorator, crept into the child's home in St John's Wood, north-west London, and lifted 16-month-old Constantine Metcalf from his cot 'to have a look'. The divorced father-of-four then decided to take the baby, Knightsbridge Crown Court was told.
Valinakas, of Shepherd's Bush, west London, admitted abduction on 29 April this year. He told the court he never intended to harm the child or demand a ransom.
