Atreasure hunter was fined pounds 300 for stealing a bronze plaque of the Roman emperor Claudius that he found on farmland near York. Victor Bethwaite, 35, of Chorley, received pounds 22,000 after selling it through Christie's, but failed to tell the landowner. Christie's issued a writ for return of the money.
