Markham misery
MINERS at one of the 12 pits reprieved earlier this year by British Coal were told the colliery is losing nearly pounds 700,000 a week and has no prospect of selling any coal. But the 100 NUM members who work at the Markham Main pit, Derbyshire, have so far held back from copying the UDM members at Rufford colliery, Nottinghamshire, who voted on Friday to accept redundancy terms.
