Three novels, a book of poetry and a history of Scottish music have been shortlisted for the pounds 10,000 McVities Prize, Scotland's equivalent of the Booker Prize. They are: The Crow Road (Iain Banks), Dunedin (Shena McKay), Sins of the Father (Allan Massie), Scotland's Music (John Purser) and Collected Poems (Iain Crichton Smith).
