Two men were last night helping police with inquiries into the murder of a mother-of-two who was abducted and burned to death.

Tracey Mertens, 31, of Rochdale, Greater Manchester, died on Christmas Eve after being set alight with petrol in Congleton, Cheshire. A police spokesman said the men were from Birmingham.
