The most expensive address in England and Wales has been revealed in a new study.

Unsurprisingly, London streets came out on top, with homes in Grosvenor Square, Belgravia, found to cost an average of £16.9 million, while nearby Eaton Square properties sell for around £15.5 million and boast famous former residents such as Nigella Lawson.

Research from Lloyd’s bank found that London and the south east dominated the top 50 list of expensive streets, with the top 10 featuring Belgravia, Knightsbridge, Kensington, Chelsea and Notting Hill.

The only address outside southern England is Park Lane in Altrincham, with an average property price of £2,494,000.

Andy Hulme, mortgages director at Lloyds Bank, commented on the dominance of the capital on the UK property market.

"As an international city, London has always attracted overseas buyers and in recent years the capital has been a magnet for ultra high net worth individuals.

"This has led to soaring demand for homes in the prime residential areas of central London and as a result values have grown significantly. For the first time since this survey began, there are three streets with an average property price of over £10 million."
