Mother killed child

A mother was yesterday convicted at Nottingham Crown Court of killing her four-year-old daughter by poisoning her in September 1986. The jury failed to reach a verdict on a charge against Celia Beckett, 34, of Newark, of poisoning another daughter, Debbie, now six.
