The Court of Appeal ruled in favour of Yvette Hawthorn, 32, a mother of five, saying that the London Borough of Wandsworth - which had refused to rehouse her because she had 'made herself intentionally homeless' by building up pounds 3,719 rent arrears - had failed to take into account her overall financial situation.
