Motorist killed at rail crossing

A motorist was crushed to death under a train because he failed to telephone a railway signalman before attempting to drive over an unmanned crossing near Ipswich, Suffolk, on Saturday night.

Drivers are supposed to warn the signalman at the Gypsy Line crossing, Needham Market, to ensure the line is clear.
